Ceremonial cacao prepared as heart medicine for cacao ceremony

CACAO: CORAZÓN

A ritual of return to the heart

CACAO: Corazón is an intimate cacao ceremony honoring cacao as medicina del corazón, heart medicine, offered in reverence for the Indigenous American lineages through which this sacred plant has been cultivated, prepared, and shared for generations.

Across cultures, ceremonial cacao has long been known as medicine for the heart, supporting emotional connection, courage, joy, and embodied presence. This ceremony approaches cacao as a living plant ally, not a trend, and invites participants into a relationship rooted in respect, reverence, and reciprocity.

Held shortly after the Spring Equinox, CACAO: Corazón marks a moment of renewal, balance, and emergence. It is a ceremonial space where bliss is remembered as a birthright, joy is honored as medicine, and it is safe to take up space fully, openly, and without apology.

The gathering unfolds as a guided shamanic journey woven with story, presence, and embodied awareness. Movement, sound, and playful expression may arise organically throughout the ceremony and are always invitational. This is not a performance or workshop, but a well-held ceremonial container where aliveness, authenticity, and heart-led expression are welcomed.

The cacao served in this ceremony is prepared with care and intention, informed by recent hands-on learning at a traditional, family-owned cacao farm in Mexico, where cacao is cultivated, harvested, and prepared in relationship with the land, the people, and the lineage that carry this medicine forward.

This ceremony honors cacao’s roots and enters into communion with her fruit. You do not need to belong to a specific lineage to attend. You are asked only to arrive with reverence for the medicine, respect for its origins, and care for the shared ceremonial space.

CACAO: Corazón is for women who feel called to reconnect with the heart as a place of truth and courage, to experience joy without shrinking, and to remember that peace does not require silence or smallness. Peace can be vibrant. Love can be abundant. Joy can be lived out loud.

Why Cacao?

Cacao has long been known as medicina del corazón, heart medicine. Across Indigenous American traditions, ceremonial cacao has been used to soften emotional armor, dissolve heart walls, mend relationships, and restore a felt sense of love, safety, and connection within oneself.

This heart opening occurs through both spirit and substance. Energetically, cacao is often referred to as Mama Cacao, a gentle yet powerful ally that supports compassion, truth, and emotional healing. Biochemically, cacao contains compounds that support the heart and nervous system, including anandamide, often called the bliss molecule, and phenylethylamine, associated with love, bonding, and pleasure.

Together, cacao’s energetic presence and biochemical makeup create a natural pathway into openness, presence, and embodied joy.

For me, cacao is lived medicine, not theory.

After a powerful journey to Sedona last year, I began working with cacao daily in a personal ceremonial practice. Within a month, a family member I had been estranged from for over ten years reached out to make amends. My relationships with my grandmother and my father shifted profoundly and permanently into a space of forgiveness, acceptance, and genuine love.

I did not force healing.
I allowed, and the heart reorganized itself accordingly.

This is where my work lives, at the intersection of soul and science.

As a board-certified holistic nurse, I understand the physiology of the heart, the nervous system, and emotional regulation. As a pleasure priestess and ceremonial facilitator, I understand the power of ritual, devotion, and joy as medicine. Ceremonial cacao bridges these worlds, offering healing not through effort or struggle, but through pleasure, presence, and allowing the heart to open in its own time.

This is the medicine being offered here.
